Hey guys! I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas!

Wow it's been awhile, I realize I've been a little absent in this community and haven't been able to post as much photography work as I'd like to. This past year I've been really focused on my design work as it's my fourth and final year in my graphic design program. It makes me extremely anxious and excited that I'll finally be done school and facing 'the real world.'

I admit my interests in photography have shifted a little and developed a lot in the past year, I've started doing a lot more event photography and have really fallen in love with it. I'm really passionate about it as I am about graphic design, but I realize I rarely showcase my event photography and design work here on DeviantART. I wanted to have my own little place online where I can host all my work with a more immersive gallery. I really really appreciate :iconmajeev: for offering to host my site and helping me start this project! It's been a lot of hard work putting the site together and I hope you guys like it!

A great job well done!
Unfortunately I find that your photography is not highlighted enough as it is difficult to locate on the right hand site! as well as that I like your JL logo but t should be followed by something like - JL design & photography or something like that - that would make the problem first mentioned go away as well..
A web site is; and especially for an Artist of your caliber a very Important tool for your past, present and future visibility out there, and needs to be also treated as a window of your Art work etc. so having a header like yours at the moment in your code <title>Jiani Lu - Home</title> is simple just NOT enough at all - HOME is always a guarantee of being a Killer which is not needed!

You seem to have three personal Interests - Design, Photography and maybe Cosplay so even if you only wanted to promote two of the three you do need to promote them in a way that there in time are your main subjects for your professional exposure, and to do that you need to get your name and Interests out there! just having a web site will not do that for you as you would have to manually promo that as well (manual is far to tiresome) so to get further and be or get effectively known as an Artist and say Designer you need to do something right now best before you start your professional live in a year because you would be able to already have made up something and established in a way it would suit and help you ..... before you need it to show case!

If you ever in need to do all these items mentioned above and of course much more let me know I do help professionally Artists from around the world (40 countries by now) for Free!

And just as another item: Tw and FB are Links, but not Links with value - good to have because your Grandma has one of each as well - but otherwise quiet ineffective! what you need is to use a couple of Links with value which do actually work in your favour! there are not that many but having them is a ticket to be effectively visible and seen ahead and above others!

I appreciate your feedback!
I've found some of it very helpful and insightful. Although I don't necessarily agree with Twitter and Facebook links lacking value, or categorizing my work into a separate Cosplay category, I do see where you are going with the rest of your advice.

Hi there, TW and FB that is a fact and not thought of by myself! it is not quiet the site it is what they are doing with it (your Information) and that is not much at all where as others do much-much more!
I was not meaning to categorize rather saying that you should promote yourself as a Designer - Photographer and if suited in Cosplay as well where Separation is the most Important part of that to address and to make sure that you can in time fall back onto each (2 or 3) on it's own merits but also combined.
I address this usually as with an Artists by single and / or multiple Interest - Single just say as a photographer and if used with multiple Interests you can address this as Designer, Photographer, Painter, Model etc. and build on that ongoing so it will give you a combined effective online visibility 'Online Presence' as well as a single one with all the advantages you can think of!
